Wright on the Park has received the final portion of construction financing from New Markets Tax Credits distributed by Iowa Community Development LC. The announcement came at a press conference on Thursday, September 24 at The Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City.
The New Markets Tax Credit program is intended to bring capital to communities and supports activities in eligible communities to help reverse negative economic trends and encourage local investment.
Construction is now moving forward, with bids let on September 18 and bid opening on October 13.

Contractors from several states gathered at The Historic Park Inn Hotel on September 18 for a pre-construction meeting as bids were let on the hotel/bank project. May 2009 Demolition work to the ceiling of the City National Bank building uncovered the original skylight in what was the board room of the bank, on the south side of the building. The original art glass for the skylight has been found and restored. April 2009 Dave Randall, from Randall Construction Co. works on replacing stone on the Ladies Parlor Balcony. These early advertising windows were revealed during recent demolition in the City National Bank building. March 2009 Demolition begins in the first floor area of the City National Bank building. The drop-ceiling will be removed and some of the non-original columns taken out. Crews continue to work on demolition in the Park Inn Hotel. Workers clear debris from ceiling demolition in the west bay area which will be turned into a restaurant for the hotel. November 2008 Restoration work begins on the Ladies Parlor balcony. Metal flashing will be replaced with appropriate stone work. Art glass for the Park Inn Hotel lobby is undergoing restoration this winter.
