A 60-minute guided tour showcases the hallmark details of the last remaining Frank Lloyd Wright designed hotel in the world. Tour over 14 locations in the building and learn the amazing story of how an active group of citizens saved the historic hotel from the wrecking ball while walking the same halls as big band stars Jack Jenney and Glenn Miller. Hotel tour are offered Thurs. & Fri. & Sun. 11:30 am & 1:00 pm; Sat. 11:30 am. All other times by appointment.

Tour Highlights:

  • Learn how the Skylight Room’s 25 art glass panels were lost and later rediscovered
  • The mezzanine that overlooks the lobby and Skylight Room
  • Visit the Ladies Parlor and balcony overlooking Mason City’s Central Park and learn how it served as a precursor to the modern mall
  • Discover how Wright drew on the design of the Historic Park Inn while building the now lost Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan
  • Tour the mahogany law reception, law library and offices of the central waist
  • Explore the Gentlemen’s Lounge and Billiards room that has been converted to the public 1910 Lounge
  • See one of two remaining Wright designed banks when you tour the City National Bank, now in use as the hotel ballroom
  • Midways Gardens sculptor Richard Bock’s “Mercury Statue”
